The deluxe station

This one lives somewhere visible, like a dining table, where other people can pitch in. Stock it with wrapping paper or gift bags, tissue paper, bows, scissors, tape, and tags for labeling. It’s the version worth setting up if you’ve got help available, even a babysitter willing to wrap a few extra gifts after the kids are in bed for a little extra pay is money well spent.

The minimalist station

This one lives wherever gifts are hidden away from curious eyes, and it only needs three things: wrapping paper, scissors, and tape. No bow required, a strip of leftover paper folded in half makes a perfectly good gift tag, and bows tend to get crushed under a pile of presents anyway. Wrapping paper can cover almost any shape reasonably well, and given that it’s torn off in a matter of seconds on the actual day, it doesn’t need to be showroom perfect.

A fun trick for sorting out who’s who

Some families use one specific wrapping paper just for gifts from Santa, making them instantly recognizable and eliminating any confusion about who gave what. Others assign a specific paper pattern to each gift-giver entirely, purple snowflakes for one relative, green pine trees for another, so sorting and distributing gifts becomes simple at a glance. There’s no single right tradition here, some families skip wrapping Santa’s gifts altogether and leave them out already assembled so kids can dive in right away.
